Historic Old Town
The historic old town of Bremen, or Altstadt, boasts stunning medieval architecture, including the UNESCO-listed Bremen Town Hall and the iconic Roland Statue. Visitors can wander through its narrow streets, discovering centuries-old buildings and the vibrant market square.
Schnoor
The oldest part of Bremen with its very narrow alleys is definitely a place to visit. It is close to the river Weser and many other sights in the heart of the city.
Bremen Town Musicians
The Bremen Town Musicians is a popular fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm, featuring a donkey, dog, cat, and rooster who set out to become musicians in Bremen. A bronze statue of the animals, symbolizing the story, stands in the city's market square and is a beloved attraction for visitors.
Hole of Bremen (Bremer Loch)
If you ever wonder what do the famous Bremen Town Musicians sound like, just toss a coin into the hole, you will be surprised!
Viertel
The Bremer Viertel, located near the Weser River, is a lively district known for its vibrant party scene, with bars, clubs, and live music venues perfect for a night out. It’s also just a short distance from the Werder Bremen stadium, making it a popular area for both football fans and locals.
Tiergehege (Mini Zoo)
It’s a teeny tiny zoo within the citizen’s park in Bremen city center. If you are lucky you will find the peacock strolling on the road right next to you!
Böttcherstraße
Böttcherstraße in Bremen is a unique, 110-meter-long street known for its striking expressionist architecture, created in the early 20th century. Lined with art galleries, museums, and shops, it offers a blend of culture and history in the heart of the city.
Schlachte
The Schlachte in Bremen is a bustling riverside promenade along the Weser, lined with restaurants, beer gardens, and historic ships. Among its highlights are the Alexander von Humboldt, a green Beck's ship now serving as a bar and restaurant, and the Pannekoekschip, a ship-turned-pancake-house.
Metalhenge
Is it… a metal Stonehenge on a tip? Yes, indeed it is. Spinal Tap would be proud. Climb up the tip, Bremen’s highest elevation (debatable) and enjoy a fantastic view over the city and surrounds. The metal sculptures follow astronomical points of interest – see Aldebaran, Betelgeuze and others when they rise.
