Participation

There will be no participation fee. Catering will be provided for free. This includes the welcome reception, two lunch meals, and coffee/snack breaks. Travel and accommodation expenses will have to be covered by attendees. Hotel rooms within walking distance to the conference venue have been reserved at a special rate.

You are welcome to present new research ideas, methods, or findings. You can also join the conference without a contribution. There will be plenty of time for discussion and exchange on research topics and methods.

You do not have to be a current TwinLife data user to participate!

Types of Submissions

Corresponding to our broad target group, we offer a range of formats for participation:

Research Idea Presentation
If you have concrete ideas for research projects that you would like to realize with the TwinLife data in the future, then you can present your ideas in a 2-to-5-minute pitch and discuss them with colleagues.

• Paper Presentation
If you have concrete projects in progress and/or findings based on TwinLife data that you would like to talk about, then you can present these in a 10-to-15-minute talk and discuss them with colleagues.

• Plenary Discussion
If you have a specific topic (e.g., the missing heritability problem) that you are interested in and want to elucidate from different perspectives with your colleagues, then you can moderate a plenary open discussion of 45 to 60 minutes.

• Workshop
If you have a certain method that you would like to demonstrate to others or a specific topic that you would like to work on with colleagues, then you can organize a workshop. Please suggest a timeframe for this workshop.

• Different contribution format
If all these types of submission do not fit your purpose of participation, then you can suggest a different contribution format. We will ask you to describe/specify the format in the abstract of your submission and to suggest a timeframe.

• Participation without a contribution
If you are just interested in TwinLife and related research topics, then you can also participate without a contribution. We will ask you to provide a short abstract on your research interests and background as a submission.

The Submission Portal is now closed as of 29 November 2024. Thank you for your numerous submissions!
We are now reviewing submissions and working to set up a programme.
